As far as Angelo's is concerned, you shouldn't be able to charge $20 for wild boar when your tables are covered with paper and the curtains are poorly sewn pieces of scrap fabric. If you're going to charge people downtown Madison prices then at least create a restaurant atmosphere that doesn't seem like the staff are "playing house".

Picasso's is wonderful. I have eaten at the one off of Verona Rd. so I was excited to see the new place opening in McFarland. The pizza and pasta are top notch and I can't wait for the full menu to be rolled out.

My husband and I live in Mc Farland and went to Angelo's at least once a week. We were also really disapointed when that fine restaurant closed. We loved the service and Lesly and John were both extreamly talented. Making everyone who came feel really welcome and special. We miss them very much.

I too miss Angelo's and was crushed when I heard they were closing. Not only was the food out of this world, but the service was the best I've had in years. Lesly's warmth and gracious smile were so welcoming and I always followed her wine recommendations. I wish her and John all the best and hope they open another restaurant. It would be a shame to waste all that talent.

I was extremely sorry to see Angelo's in McFarland close. Angelo's served fabulous food and if you were lucky enough to get Lesly as a waitress, you were in heaven!

I agree with Adamant's post completely. This McFarland resident did appreciate it and supported it as much as possible but, disappointingly, not enough other fellow residents did. A terrible shame.

I hope John and Lesly will find the right niche and that Picassos, if deserved, will get supported by the community.

Chef John LaRue apparently had all the right stuff in the wrong place. Although the restaurant was not The Ritz, it was a pleasant place to enjoy great food, with a bit of atmosphere and music that didn't upset your stomach while you ate, topped off with friendly and efficient service.

If Mr. LaRue takes his talents elsewhere, I hope he will publicize well. Anyone who can prepare a tenderloin that makes your mouth water at the thought of it, is worth following to the ends of the earth! Although I thought it was just perfect when he was right here in McFarland.
