We have to admit, there aren’t all that many Sushi restaurants in Madison. Having said that, there are some very good Sushi testaurants in Madison! Here are the winners of the Mad Diner Award Best Sushi Restaurant for 2008.

Beep beep beep, back up back up. Something is majorly wrong with the taste buds of the people in charge of not placing Wasabi sushi #1 in my opinion or #2 bare minimum. There chefs and staff are all very friendly and the sushi is top notch. The spicy ken is the best roll in Madison and I have been to all places numerous times. Muramoto is great as well but I think Wasabi is a rung above the rest.
I’m stunned, I’ve been Muramoto and twice had very fishy tasting sushi, we sent it back and got apologies. This is the Yuppie “hip” place to go that all the pretty people rave about, but it’s not that great. Madison still doesn’t have a great sushi restaurant.
I completely agree with what JUDE says. I would have to say that Wasabi ranks #1 in Madison.
I used to love Wasabi many years ago, then I started going to Muromoto. The last time I went to Wasabi I could barely get through the meal. Muromoto is head and shoulders above any other sushi joint in Madison. There is no comparison. I can’t say it’s better than places in Chicago, but there is no place better in Madison.
I haven’t been to Muromoto yet so I can’t compare them to any others but I really like EDO on Monona Drive. Sit at the Sushi bar and you get a nice appetizer.
How is it no one knows about Takumi?
Oh wait it’s a nice little secret; but it shouldn’t be.
We had dinner at EDO tonight based on the above comment and it was very good, loved the appetizer!
