Hot Dog Vendor on Verona Road
It is not often that we write about a food cart. Recently, however, a hot dog vendor caught our eye on Verona Road by the beltline. This food cart has your typical sausages – hot dogs, bratwurst, and polish sausages. That’s about it, and that’s really enough.
The food cart operator doesn’t really have a set schedule. He works when he works, he quits when he runs out of food, and he entertains his customers with his friendly chatter as he serves them. On a recent visit, he told us about his dream to open a Cuban restaurant in Madison. He’s not sure how he’s going to realize that dream, but that doesn’t stop him from dreaming.
Judging from the polish sausages we consumed, we’d be more than glad to support any Cuban restaurant that may come to fruition.
If you are hungry and want a quick (yes, unhealthy) lunch, stop by and chat while you get a dog served up. There’s no where to sit once you order your sausage, but don’t let that stop you - you’ll enjoy the treat anyway.
