We stopped in to the recently-opened Next Door Brewing Company to take a look around.  This Brew Pub is the lasted addition to the Madison Craft Beer scene, and a successful one at that.  Offering on-premise brewed beer, along with a smattering of guest taps from other local craft brewers, Next Door also pairs their beer with a well-thought out food menu.  The menu includes items such as a House Corn Dog, made with a Usinger’s Bavarian wiener, dipped in beer batter,  Fish Fritters, and Sauerkraut Sausage Balls, made with Stalzy’s Sauerkraut.

We stuck with a happy  hour special – the poutine.  Some may realize that poutine around Madison has traditionally been a pet peeve of ours, as many places take their poutine to exotic new levels.  When it comes to poutine, just because you can make it exotic, doesn’t mean you should – and Next Door Brewing delivered exactly  what we were looking for – a basic, but very tasty traditional poutine that doesn’t even pretend to be something that it is not.

We look forward to stopping in again.  If you’ve given Next Door Brewing Company a try, let us know what you thought in the comments!
