Get ready for one of the most intense culinary challenges of the year!  The 2009 Dueling Chefs at the Madison Food and Wine Show is about to kick off!

This is Iron Chef, Madison-style!  The top chefs in the city are pitted against each other in tournament format to compete for the title of Madison’s Culinary Conqueror.

Don’t think that these chefs don’t take this seriously.  MadisonDining.com has been on hand to judge this event several years running, and we can attest to the competitiveness, intent and focus these chefs bring to the table, so to speak.

Last year’s winner, Chef Charles Lazzareschi from the Dayton Street Grille will be on hand to defend his title.  Also competing:

  • Barbara Wright – The Dardanelles
  • Kane T. Goulet-Evans – The Blue Marlin
  • Rob Grisham – Brasserie V
  • Jeff Bach – Captain Bill’s
  • Daniel Smith – Liliana’s
  • Justin Carlisle – Restaurant Muramoto

MadisonDining.com and our sister site, CuisineCapers.com will be there to judge some of the heated competitions.  We’re looking forward to another hard fought battle.  The heats are scheduled as follows:

Friday, October 23 – 6PM & 8PM
Saturday, October 24 – 1PM & 3PM & 5PM
Sunday, October 25 – 2PM (Finals)

Here’s a look back at some of last year’s battle:
